Children know that each day, they must wake up and get dressed. It’s one of the most important daily activities that we must think about in the morning! Having a daily routine is great for kids. By learning about a daily routine in English, children can begin to understand how to manage their time and practice good daily habits. Clothes are an important part of our routines every day. Ask your child what time he or she puts on clothes in the morning. Can he or she talk about clothes in English? Let’s expand our clothes vocabulary!

Watch the video to hear Lisa and Elliot sing about clothes. While they are doing laundry, they sing about trousers, shoes, a skirt, and shirts. Watch the video several times and encourage your child to sing along. Ask your little one what he or she is wearing today. What color is it? What is his or her favorite thing to wear?

At home, help your child make a poster called “My Daily Routine” Separate the poster into two sides. On the left side write: “My Daily Activities.” Here, tell your child to draw the activities he or she does every day. On the other side write: “Daily Vocabulary.” This is where your little one can draw the items they use each day. This includes clothes! Include the clothes from the video and then add other things you and your child use every morning. Ok, let’s sing the song and learn about the clothes we wear every day!

Clothes name song (Lyrics)

These are trousers,
These are trousers,
These are trousers,
And these are shoes.

These are shoes,
These are shoes,
These are shoes,
And this is a skirt.

This is a skirt,
This is a skirt
This is a skirt,
And this is a shirt.

This is a shirt,
This is a shirt,
This is a shirt,
And this is me!
